WHAT IS INTERLIBRARY LOAN?.
If you require material from another library, please use our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service. Our library offers this service to all Redeemer students, staff and faculty. If the resource you need is not available through our library in either print or electronic format, an interlibrary loan may be requested.
Before placing an ILL request however, please check our library's many resources. Search our library's catalogue to see whether we own a book or journal article pertaining to your research subject.
If we do not have the title that you're looking for, your next step is to check McMaster University's libraries . Redeemer students and faculty have borrowing privileges at McMaster University. If McMaster has the title available, please stop by our library information desk to fill out a McMaster form. You will need this form, along with your RUC Express card, when you visit McMaster's libraries.
If neither McMaster nor our library have the items you need, please select the interlibrary loan request button in our catalogue and in our EBSCO databases and fill out the online forms provided. If the item is not available in our catalogue, please fill out the following interlibrary loan book request form or article request form (you can also use the ILL Forms tab above). Students are allowed to place a maximum of five interlibrary loan requests at one time.
Most books arrive within two weeks, but depending on availability, some deliveries may take up to three weeks. If you have a deadline, please consider this before placing the request. Most articles will arrive in a few days. All book ILL requests are free if they are available in Canadians libraries. Please know that students will be charged $3.00 for each ILL article request.
