BUS 253: Personal Finance – The Myths, Mysteries and Marvels of Money

Cost for Students:

  • ILL books (up to 5 at a time) are free (and if neither Redeemer or McMaster own it)
  • ILL articles (up to 5 at a time) are free

Cost for Faculty:

  • no charge for ILL requests

Cost for Retired faculty:

  • allowed 5 free requests per year

How Long do they take to get here? How long can I borrow them?

  • Books take 1-3 weeks to arrive and photocopied articles take 1-5 days.
  • You will receive an email as soon as your requests arrive.
  • Loans are for 3 weeks and cannot be renewed.
  • ILL items are subject to recall from the lending institution at any time. Upon request, the items must be returned immediately.
  • Borrowers are responsible for fees imposed by the lending libraries for materials returned late, damaged or lost.

ILL requests not accepted:

  •    Books and articles available in our library or McMaster's
  •    eBooks
  •    Entire issues of a periodical
  •    Audio visual materials, reference, rare and new materials

Please return all ILL items to the Library Circulation Desk.

Use WorldCat to find books in other libraries

You can request books through inter-library loan (ILL) if they are not at Redeemer or McMaster.  If we have the book, the call # would appear where you see the arrow below.  

If McMaster has it, they will appear near the top of the list of libraries under Availability.

 

If the book is not at Redeemer or McMaster, you can request the item through Interlibrary Loan:

You must be in the Full Record display in order to see the libraries that own the book.  If the book is not available at Redeemer or McMaster,  it can be requested via Interlibrary Loan.  Click Request Item.

You may be prompted for Authentication at this point:

Fill in your ILL request as follows.  Indicate when you need the book. They usually arrive within 2 weeks. Confirm that you checked to make sure it is not at Redeemer or McMaster.  The Redeemer library will notify you when the book arrives. It will be held for you at the circulation desk.

Search McMaster Library.

New Sept, 2021: McMaster is offering the community (including Redeemer students and faculty/staff) free access to their print collection, with up to 40 check outs annually,  28 day circulation period with 2 renewals per item.  No access to electronic resources.

Search the Hamilton Public Library

Library cards are free to anyone living, working or studying in Hamilton (which includes Ancaster).  With your Library card you can:

  • use any of the library branches in Hamilton
  • borrow books, CDs, movies, magazines, video games and more
  • access online resources
  • download eBooks, eAudiobooks, music, movies and magazines
  • use library computers and printers

Register at any Library branch for a free Library card with identification and proof of your current address.  Redeemer students who live in Ancaster (part of Hamilton) only during the school year can borrow from the HPL as long as they show their Redeemer student card and proof of their current local address, e.g. an envelope addressed to them with their local address.
