How to Find Books on the Sample Topic, Missions to Indigenous People :

You could try a Search in WorldCat, our library catalogue:

Go to the Description of relevant books and scroll down to the Subjects field. Take note of relevant subject headings.

Or try an Advanced Search in WorldCat  using keywords from the Subject headings found in the Descriptions of relevant books:

Useful Subject Headings:

  • Indians of North America Missions
  • Native American Church of North America
  • Inuit Missions
  • Eskimos Missions
  • Missionaries
  • Christianity and culture United States History
  • Church work with Indians
  • Church of England Missions Canada
  • Anglican Church of Canada Missions

AND finds all terms

OR finds either term

mission* finds any ending (missions, missionaries)

 

How to Find Journal Articles on the topic, Christian Missions & Islam

From the library Databases page, go to EBSCOhost and select EBSCOhost Web.  Then choose your database(s). Try the following search and refine your results.  For example, you could limit your results to recently published (in the past 5 years), full text articles in peer reviewed journals.

From the library Databases page, select JSTOR. Select the Advanced Search. You can filter (narrow) your results by item type (e.g. Articles), Date of publication, and Language. You can also narrow by subject discipline of the journals, e.g. Language & Literature.
