How Long do they Take?
You can request books through inter-library loan (ILL) if they are not at Redeemer or McMaster. If we have the book, the call # would appear where you see the arrow below.
If McMaster has it, they will appear near the top of the list of libraries under Availability.
You must be in the Full Record display in order to see the libraries that own the book. If the book is not available at Redeemer or McMaster, it can be requested via Interlibrary Loan. Click Request Item.
You may be prompted for Authentication at this point:
Fill in your ILL request as follows. Indicate when you need the book. They usually arrive within 2 weeks. Confirm that you checked to make sure it is not at Redeemer or McMaster. The Redeemer library will notify you when the book arrives. It will be held for you at the circulation desk.
For more information about Interlibrary Loans, including Request Forms for online submissions, go here.
Search McMaster Library.
Redeemer students and full-time faculty can apply for a free external borrower's card ($50 for part-time faculty) which will allow them to borrow print books (no electronic resources). Before going to McMaster, pick up a form at the Redeemer Library Research Assistance Desk.

Library cards are free to anyone living, working or studying in Hamilton (which includes Ancaster). With your Library card you can:
Register at any Library branch for a free Library card with identification and proof of your current address. Redeemer students who live in Ancaster (part of Hamilton) only during the school year can borrow from the HPL as long as they show their Redeemer student card and proof of their current local address, e.g. an envelope addressed to them with their local address.
