Redeemer Royals' original mascot was Rex the Raccoon, but by 2002, the mascot costume was quite tattered and the school decided it was time for a face lift. Through many deliberations and a "Rename Rex Committee", it was decided that Rex the Raccoon would be succeeded by Rex the Lion.
